The Children and Families (Wales) Measure 2010 provides the statutory framework for tackling child poverty in Wales. The Child Poverty Strategy developed from the measure identifies three primary strategic objectives. The third of which is to reduce the inequalities that exists in the health, education and economic outcomes for children living in poverty, by improving outcomes of the poorest. It is in the field of this third strategic objective that the Mid and West Wales Fire & Rescue Service is best placed to achieve positive outcomes.
